Men of God?

I hate Jews. Words from an American priest who, a year before the outbreak of WWII was extolling the benefits of Nazism and Adolf Hitler. May all those who hate Israel vanish from this world, may they be brought down by PLAGUE. Words from an Arch- Rabi. Pastor Terry Jones wants to burn the Qu'ran to send a powerful message to the Muslims of this world (So he thinks).

Pastor Fred Phelps and his church believe that God hates America and thank God for 9/11.
Mullah Omar, Bin Laden's top lieutenant, is bent on inflicting pain to America.
Hatred is nothing new to Humanity. It is the root of evil deeds, of crimes that put humanity to shame ...like the Holocaust. Surely God does not condone hatred. Why then are religious "guides" whose mission, purportedly, is to guide people spiritually, propagating hatred?
God is love. God is mercy. Should not men who take it upon themselves to "lead" others to the fold of God propagate love, compassion, understanding, forgiveness? Should not religious leaders set a good example? What is Religion? The word stems from the Latin re-ligare which means to re-unite.
Reunite the soul to God, presumably. How can a soul full of hate committed to, or condoning, hate in all its manifestations be reunited to God?
The media make known everything they consider useful, or simply good for their business. Flooded by information as they are people find it, sometimes, hard to discern and can fall prey to hateful ideas. This is why today, as always, benevolent spiritual guidance is important. More so because conditions vary around the world. In the US, for example, the first ammendment to the constitution guarantees free speech in every manner, including the burning of the flag, or the denial of the holocaust (this denial being forbiden in most European countries). In some muslim countries the punishment for theft is amputation of an arm, to say nothing about adultery.
The media have "shrunk" the world .What happens on the other side of the planet is almost instantly communicated to the entire planet. Words or acts of hatred do not escape attention. Often they pursue it. Do words or deeds of love receive the same exposure? The media know.
Spiritual guidance that will help the individual turn to the creator and away from hatred is sorely needed. It is not in shortage. It is readily available. Seek and ye shall find. Like the lyrics of an old song go ...what the world needs now is love sweet love. God is love and there are plenty of guides who can help the individual turn to God's love ...the true love. All that is needed is a little discretion ...to distinguish true spiritual guides from "supposed to be".
