The Public Transportation Unions are giving Athens a hard time and are disrupting economic activity. WHY ? They want to maintain the status quo. WHY ? Your Government has to change the status quo. WHY?

Ask people and a great many sympathize with the strikers. WHY? Do people have a clear understanding of the reasons why you want to bring about this change? Do they know how they… the people will benefit from the change ? Do they know why the Public Transportation deficits must be reduced and what the options are ? WHY do you not speak up, explain, enlighten them, they will understand and will express their disapproval. The Media will see to that. The Unions will no longer be the “victims” and will be exposed for what they are …. Self centered groups of privileged public employees
and in the face of disapproval from the people they will accept the inevitable.

The Communists and the “moderate” left are calling on people to ride free on the Public Mass Transit System which they claim you are privatizing with the price hikes of tickets and people are responding en masse. WHY? You are endeavoring to contain costs, lower the deficits. Why do you not speak up? Why do you refrain from explaining the needs for the hikes, present the options, help people understand why the hikes are necessary?

The Communists are calling for disobedience. They are calling for contempt of the Constitution, which they generally disregard although they are bound by the Law regarding Parliament to accept and abide by it. Surely they are breaking the Law, so why is Justice looking the other way? WHY do you not speak up? You do not want the young of this country to espouse the idea that the Law is to be accepted only where, when and how they please, presumably. So why do you encourage lawlessness? You told the world in the fall of 2009 that, together with other things, in Greece even the laws are disregarded. You came to change that, so do it. You can start by explaining the need for it. Yes the Greeks have forgotten all about law and order, so it behooves you to remind them, to literarily t e a c h them. Talk to them, help them understand the damage those who propagate disobedience and lawlessness inflict to the country. Use the P A M E blockades in Piraeus as an example of the damage to the National Economy that a regimented 100 people group can accomplish and it is by no means the only example you can use.

It is your job to bring a new perspective to “Greek” thinking. You are good with words so talk to the Greeks. Why do you not use a good example to help them understand that they have lost their bearings.

Greece needs strength to pull itself out of its problems. Old fashioned ways, like unreasonable tolerance of malfeasance and lawlessness got it to where it is now. It is the distorted view of life constantly presented to the Greeks to the point of brainwashing that has made them accept distortion as a way of life.

Come December and Athens will commemorate the killing of the boy shot by a nervous policeman in the December 2008 riots in Athens. That a 15 year old boy has no clear understanding of the issues for the riots and so participates in them for the heck of it, to be with his friends, is overlooked. What matters is that he did not constitute a threat to the two policemen, one of which shot the boy, so the killing is totally unjustified. Questions: Did the boy perform a heroic act ? Did he serve his country in one or another way? Did he die for freedom? For justice? For democracy? Is he the only victim of unwarranted, of inexcusable police action? He is the victim of one man’s bad judgment. So the expressions of mourning commemorate a totally unjustifiable killing, correct?

That three people died, one of them a married woman on the fifth month of her pregnancy, when protesters marching past a BANK threw fire bombs in the Bank to kill them as a punishment for working when the Unions were on strike, has been totally forgotten. The people in the Bank cried for help but their cries were answered with shouts of : it serves you right : and instead of help their exit was blocked to prevent them from escaping. The crowd condemned them to death for working instead of striking like the marchers were. The crowd became judge and executioner in the name of Party Orthodoxy, Communist party orthodoxy, banner waiving and all that. No tears for them. The terrible death they suffered was totally justified, correct?

In the name of reason please ask the Greeks why they mourn the one death and forget the three others. What does the boy’s death signify? What does the death of the three bank employees signify? When a charged up policeman shoots a boy that jeered him the boy is a shining example of police brutality and should be remembered as a martyr? When three people working peacefully (may have needed the money) die in a fire, should be remembered as what? As a shining example of distorted minds in the captivity of party orthodoxy? Or what? YOU must help the Greeks understand the distortion in their thinking. The country is disoriented. Help Greece find its way.

Speaking of Banks, why do you let people talk and talk about the Banks being responsible for the mess Greece is in ? Why do you not explain to them what part Banks play in all Economies and that even Soviet Russia had Banks for the same more or less reasons. Why do you not explain that Ireland is the victim of its Banks, not Greece. Why do you not engage the country to a dialogue ? Help it understand the fallacy of its convictions, indeed as your party and yourself tolerated the fallacy when it was useful for your political games. Do you seriously believe that this country can move forward blind to the truth, as it is now ?

Do you or do you not have the courage of your convictions ? If you are convinced that Greece need not change, that the Pharmacists and Lawyers and all the professions that must become open to all, should maintain their privileges and that Greece should continue as an Economy of fenced- in groups, often at odds with each other, then be a sport … resign and let one who believes that the mandates of the Memorandum are a blessing to Greece take your place.

You know that soon thousands of Public sector employees will become unemployed, with the ensuing repercussions to the market which in turn will accentuate the private sector problems. More people will be susceptible to what the leftist and communist propaganda suggest. Why then do you not publically invite all the parties in Parliament to present their detailed plans for the cure of the country’s ills? Let them expose the hollowness of their words, the irrational thinking they will present as “plans” and be very well prepared to expose their lack of substance and counter their claims with facts. Reality, facts well presented give credence to your arguments. You can convince. You can avert the explosion of the currently brewing tension. Show the country how irresponsible the opposition parties are.

Effective Communication to gain understanding and support will bring dividends to the country and to you all. The Media are undeserving. They turn trivia to “issues” and overlook facts for the sake of sensationalism. Greek journalism can win no praise for objectivity and veracity. Consequently the Greeks see life through a magnifying glass that projects the detail, not the entire picture. It is incumbent upon you to render your country the service … to set things straight. Talk. Communicate. Help the country understand what is wrong with it. You will thus become the reformer Greece needs.

Do this N O W. No time to waste.

Today’s gripes will become wrath if not addressed, N OW.
